El Faro.net recently conducted an in-depth interview with Dr. Terry Karl who is a long-time expert on El Salvador and has been a key witness in many of the trials in Europe and the U.S. involving crimes from the civil war of the 1980s.
Dr. Karl was in El Salvador last month for the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the assassination of Monsignor Oscar Romero. During her visit, Dr. Karl spared some time to give our delegation a tour of the UCA, where assassins killed six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and her daughter in 1989.
During the El Faro interview, which is in Spanish, Dr. Karl talks at length about the power structure in El Salvador in the 1980’s and how the death squads operated. She also discusses her conversations with Roberto d’Aubuisson, and how he operated. Click here for the article.
