While Tropical Storm Matthew has passed, El Salvador is experiencing another wave of precipitation due to Tropical Storm Nicole. The storm is concentrated between Cuba and Florida, interacting with a cold front. Meanwhile, a low pressure system heading south east is dumping large amounts of moisture onto the Pacific coasts of El Salvador and Guatemala. The central and eastern areas of El Salvador are most affected.
While some communities along the coastal area of the Grande River and the Jiquilisco Bay area have been evacuated, the Lower Lempa reports no major flooding. The families that sought refuge in previous days have returned to their houses for now and local Civil Protection committees are on red alert.
