Today 13 different organizations and hundreds of people marched to the Legislative Assembly. The XI Ecological March focused on the right to water, and presented three written petitions to the Legislative Assembly’s Environmental Commission. The petitions demanded the following: 1. To discuss the Ecological Bills that have been introduced in past marches. 2. To discuss the Bill for a General Water Law that civil society presented over 5 years ago, and 3. that the Environmental and Climate Change Commission discuss and pass the Anti-Mining Law proposed by the National Roundtable against Mining in 2006. They also paused in front of the Ministry of Economy to give them a petition for the fair development of a metallic mining policy in El Salvador.
